ALYSSA PRATER
Black Warrior River watershed

Alyssa is a Land Protection Specialist and Information Manager at The Nature Conservancy, working to conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends. She graduated from the Arts & Sciences Honors Program at Boston College with a BA in Political Science and is interested in environmental policy, public administration, and ways in which communities prepare to face and overcome the climate disaster.

 

Alyssa is an enthusiastic supporter of ARA’s work and was formerly a member of ARA’s Young Professional River Defenders from 2019 through 2024. She also previously served on the Junior Board of the Freshwater Land Trust as Vice President and Public Service Chair.

 

 

Alyssa maintains her connection to the natural world by hiking and photographing the parks and preserves of the Southeast. When she’s not spending time outdoors, you can find her experimenting in the kitchen or curled up with her cats and a good book.
