Ashley Thorne is the Executive Director of River Region Trails, a nonprofit dedicated to building a regional network of trails that connect people to nature and community throughout Montgomery and the River Region. Since stepping into the role in 2024, she has advanced key initiatives including the Cypress Nature Preserve, the Selma to Montgomery National Historic Trail corridor, and the organization’s 30X30 strategic plan. Ashley is passionate about conservation, placemaking, and expanding outdoor access, and she works closely with local partners to create spaces that support recreation, environmental stewardship, and community health.
