For the past year, the Alabama Rivers Alliance has received a lot calls and emails from concerned communities about data centers popping up in their backyards. Some of these turn out to be rumors, but many are indeed proposed all over Alabama. It can be difficult to keep track of where they are, and which rivers and streams they impact, even for those of us who are focused on it daily as part of our job!
We want to provide accurate information and tools that concerned Alabamians can use to stay informed, while also highlighting the very real threat of hyperscale data centers on Alabama’s communities, water and land.
