
Daniel West
Geological Survey of Alabama
Daniel West is a fluvial geomorphologist employed as a Senior Environmental Scientist in the Ecosystems Investigations Program at the Geological Survey of Alabama. With a specialization in watershed dynamics, Daniel’s interests lie in integrating hydrological processes into watershed science and habitat assessments. Beyond his role in the Ecosystems Investigations Program, Daniel also assists with several partnerships including the Alabama Rivers and Streams Network (ARSN), the In-stream Barrier and Other Low-head Dams (InBOLD) working group, and leads the Alabama Rivers and Streams Network including Connectivity (ARSNiC), as well as the current Chair for the Tennessee River Basin Network (TRBN). Daniel is an avid supporter of the Alabama Rivers Alliance and all groups that strive to preserve, conserve, and restore Alabama’s amazing aquatic resources.
