The Green Coast Council’s 2017 Sustainability Summit will take place on Friday, January 27 from 8:30am – 3:30pm at the University of South Alabama Student Center. The Green Coast Council is excited to announce that Dr. Scot Duncan, author of Southern Wonder: Alabama’s Surprising Biodiversity and professor at Birmingham-Southern College will be the opening speaker. In addition, Alison Kinn Bennett, who is the Senior Advisor for the U.S. EPA’s Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention, will be the keynote speaker.

Also, a morning plenary session will focus on “Sustainable Resource Management,” and an afternoon session will include a discussion of “Sustainable Business Practices to Optimize the Triple Bottom Line.” Please follow this link to register. The sponsorship deadline is Tuesday, December 6th.

Students over the age of 21 are encouraged to join us for GreenEd Drinkson Thursday evening, January 26th from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the University of South Alabama Faculty Club. The guest speaker will be Sustainability Summit keynote speaker Alison Kinn Bennett.
