Grab your lunch and join us for Lunch & Learn with Coosa Riverkeeper‘s Justinn Overton. Coosa Riverkeeper has been hard at work developing FISH GUIDE for Alabama. This Lunch & Learn will dive into the program and will provide all listeners with tools for outreach in your area.
In 2015, there were 26 fish consumption advisories on the Coosa River and its tributaries for PCBs and methylmercury. Every river in Alabama has fish consumption advisories. Many people who fish throughout Alabama are unaware of these advisories, and what it means for the health of themselves and their families. FISH GUIDE includes a toll-free hotline, sponsored in part by alliance partners throughout Alabama, outlining the consumption advisories in the nine river regions.
