Shoals Environmental Alliance Meeting

SEA meets in the conference room at the Florence-Lauderdale Public Library, 350 N. Wood Ave Florence, AL 35630. The public, as always, is cordially invited.

Our Program: David Whiteside, Executive Director, Tennessee Riverkeeper (TNRK) will talk about the major sources of pollution in the Tennessee River. TNRK recently analyzed data self-reported to EPA by industry. In 2015, industries dumped almost 10,000,000 lbs. of toxins into Alabama’s waterways. Pollutants dumped in the Tennessee River included 50,000 lbs. of carcinogens. The great majority of this pollution is legal!
