Solar Home Tour
October 5 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pmFree
How do people learn about Off-grid living and Homesteading? What if you could meet people who have been living that lifestyle for 30+ years? What if you could meet people who have built their own houses, have organic gardens, catch their own rain water, and use clean, renewable Solar Power? What if you could meet people who have built a house out of straw bales? Or a permanent 12 sided yurt? Or an earth-bermed underground house? Or a clerestory house that uses natural air movements to assist heating and cooling?
Are you in North Central Alabama, or somewhere near? On Saturday, October 5th, and Sunday, October 6th, the owners of 5 different properties are inviting you to come spend the day with us and tour these properties. This is being done as part of “Solar Tour Alabama”, It’s free and open to the public. Due to the rural setting and restrictions on crowd size, registration is required. If you are able to attend, please register at [email protected] . There is a 1 ½ hour midday net-working lunch break, so pack your picnic basket and be ready to mix and mingle with interesting and interested people. Lunchtime Bonus – check out a tiny home handbuilt from salvaged materials.
