Whitewater Paddling in Alabama with Alabama Cup Racing Association, Birmingham Canoe Club, Friends of the Locust Fork River and Stream Beam.

Alabama is a little known whitewater paddling hot spot, especially for those who like the excitement of paddling in natural free-flowing streams. As a sport, the Alabama Cup is a coveted award to paddlers all across the Southeast who travel to the Locust Fork and Mulberry Fork rivers each year in February and March for the Alabama Cup Slalom Races. Join us Tuesday as we talk with paddlers and nonprofits who support this exciting sport and advocate for local recreational access to Alabama’s waterways. We will also share safety tips and info on whitewater lessons from local canoe clubs!

ABOUT THE WATER IS LIFE SERIES

Each Tuesday we invite you to join us from noon – 1 pm for this virtual get-together…with a purpose! We will be highlighting the role that water plays in our lives throughout Alabama and we will share how you can participate in the efforts to protect water. You’ll hear from our partners across the state, and leading experts in water protection. We’ll even have a few river history lessons thrown in!
