Water is Life: FEMA and Nature with Eileen Shader (American Rivers)

Climate change is causing more frequent and severe flood events. There is an urgent need to manage our floodplains in a way that centers public safety in the face of climate change, social and racial inequities, and environmental health and the biodiversity crisis. Join us for a presentation on new trends in floodplain management to support equitable and nature-based flood management and strategies river conservationists can use to integrate flood hazard mitigation and river conservation to benefit people and nature.

ABOUT THE WATER IS LIFE SERIES

Join us the first Tuesday of each month  from noon – 1 pm for this virtual get-together … with a purpose! We will be highlighting the role that water plays in our lives throughout Alabama and we will share how you can participate in the efforts to protect water. You’ll hear from our partners across the state, and leading experts in water protection. We’ll even have a few river history lessons thrown in! Click here to watch any past Water is Life Zoom Talk.
