Water is Life:  Intro to the Series

In the first of this new series, Dr. Bill Deutsch, author of Alabama Rivers: A Celebration and Challenge, will share through guided discussion the importance of water in Alabama’s past and present, while thinking about our future.

Then you’ll hear about water monitoring throughout the state from our partners at Alabama Water Watch

Finally, hear the latest about the 2020 legislative session from Conservation Alabama and an update on the “drone bill” from SELC. We’ll also give you an update on the journey towards an Alabama Water Plan.

NOTE: This first Water is Life will be 1.5 hours. Each one after will be 1 hour.

Missed the call? Never fear! You can watch the whole thing by clicking here.

ABOUT THE WATER IS LIFE SERIES

Each Tuesday, starting on Rivers of Alabama Day (April 14), we invite you to join us from noon – 1 pm for this virtual get-together…with a purpose! We will be highlighting the role that water plays in our lives throughout Alabama and we will share how you can participate in the efforts to protect water, even in this new “normal”. You’ll hear from our partners across the state, and leading experts in water protection. We’ll even have a few river history lessons thrown in!
