JENNIFER BARKER
ALABAMA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT

Jennifer Barker serves as a Senior Environmental Scientist in the Nonpoint Source Unit of the Permits and Services Division at the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM). In her current role, she is responsible for helping to oversee planning and implementation of the Clean Water Act Section 319(h) program and Alabama’s Nonpoint Source Management Program. With over 4 years of experience at ADEM, her responsibilities encompass grant management, the development of watershed management plans, partnership collaboration, and the coordination of educational initiatives and outreach materials. Jennifer works extensively with a diverse range of federal, state, and local partners and stakeholders to advance environmental stewardship. Her collaborative efforts include partnerships with organizations such as Keep Alabama Beautiful, Montgomery Trees, and Friends of the Alabama River. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Auburn University, which she obtained in 1999. Outside of her professional commitments, Jennifer is passionate about teaching ballroom dance and running her own photography business.
