Water Is Life Zoom Talk Series

Alabama Rivers Alliance and our partners are always thinking about clean water and ways to engage individuals and communities in the movement to #DefendRivers. We also know that means different things to different people in Alabama and that’s why we launched our new Water is Life Zoom Talk Series on Rivers of Alabama Day in 2020!

When a new issue or impact emerges, ARA gathers the alliance for the Water is Life Zoom Talk to discuss with communities, partners across the state, and leading experts in water protection.

Water is Life: Data Centers with ARA and Southern Environmental Law Center

With the rapid advances and uses of AI technology, hyperscale data center projects are popping up all across the Southeast, including here in Alabama. These facilities require hundreds of acres of land and buildings to house vast amounts of computers requiring unprecedented amounts of energy and water to operate. Join us on Tuesday, July 15 as we hear from Charles Miller (Alabama Rivers Alliance) and Alys Campaign (Southern Environmental Law Center) how data centers are impacting communities and ecosystems across the southeast and we’ll learn more about the ongoing efforts to address these impacts.
