Coming Home to Earth

A Workshop with Sr. Jeanne Clark, OP

A bit over a year ago Pope Francis issued Laudato Si: On Care for Our Common Home. In his letter the pope called for respect for our earth and our brothers and sisters, a life style of justice, and care for creation. What does that mean for us? How can we live more justly and sustainably in our daily lives? This workshop will draw on the message of Laudato Si and help us to understand our place in this beautiful world, and how we can care for it.

Sr. Jeanne Clark OP will help us to explore creation care in this workshop sponsored by Mary’s House and held in the parish hall at Holy Family parish, 1910 19th St, Ensley.

Sr Jeanne is founder of Homecoming, a group working to help us understand our intimate relationship with all life on our planet. She is a Dominican Sister of Amityville, NY, and founder of Homecoming Farm. Jeanne first began to think about our relationship with the land while accompanying Salvadoran peasants displaced by civil war. This theme has run through all her work as campus minister, educator, core community member at Ground Zero Center for Nonviolent Action, and facilitator for Pax Christi Long Island.

Join us for an afternoon to explore this urgent topic. We’ll have time to meet, listen to Sr. Jeanne, enjoy a snack, and build some community together. If people are interested we’ll convene a continuing group around these issues.

Everyone is welcome – let us know in advance if you can so that we can have enough copies (and snacks!) but come even if you haven’t registered!
