Green Stormwater Infrastructure: Design, Maintenance, & Planning Workshop
November 3, 2023 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm$50
This workshop will focus on how to design and encourage the use of Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) in your community with long-term operation and maintenance in mind. GSI can be used to supplement or replace traditional gray stormwater infrastructure for managing the impacts of runoff in urban areas. Through design case studies, interactive discussion, and practical tools and worksheets, this workshop will address common codes and ordinance barriers to implementing green stormwater infrastructure, as well as the design considerations that engineers and designers should keep in mind when designing these practices for urban areas.
The training will be led by Dr. Eban Bean, Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist of Urban Water Resources Engineering at the University of Florida’s Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering. The workshop is facilitated by the Auburn University Water Resources Center and funded in part via a National Fish and Wildlife Grant received by the City of Auburn.
Municipal leaders, MS4 managers, watershed coordinators, community planners, landscape architects, engineers, consultants, and environmental nonprofits are invited to attend. Content will be relevant to stormwater professionals at all levels.
