Water is Life: Caves and Quarries featuring Michael Ray Taylor (author, Hidden Nature: Wild Southern Caves) and Vicki Carroll (Neighborhood Preservation Coalition)

Join us Tuesday as we gently lower ourselves into the delicate environment of the southern cave system. We’ll learn about the truly awesome cave springs throughout the Southeast and particularly in Alabama. We’ll also hear from a local community group working to ensure the headwaters of the Cahaba and Black Warrior Rivers are protected for generations to come from quarries and other threats to these unique ecosystems.

ABOUT THE WATER IS LIFE SERIES

Each Tuesday we invite you to join us from noon – 1 pm for this virtual get-together…with a purpose! We will be highlighting the role that water plays in our lives throughout Alabama and we will share how you can participate in the efforts to protect water. You’ll hear from our partners across the state, and leading experts in water protection. We’ll even have a few river history lessons thrown in!
