Tuesday, November 10 – Turtles of Alabama! with Dr. Andy Coleman (Urban Turtle Project) and Sierra Stiles (Turtle Point Science Center)

Alabama is a global hot spot for turtle diversity and the perfect playground for turtle scientists. The variety of micro-habitats traversing the state create conditions for turtle diversity unmatched anywhere else on the planet. We’ll hear from two of these scientists working to protect the turtles of Alabama, which of course means protecting the water they depend on and the land on which they live.

ABOUT THE WATER IS LIFE SERIES

Each Tuesday, starting on Rivers of Alabama Day (April 14), we invite you to join us from noon – 1 pm for this virtual get-together…with a purpose! We will be highlighting the role that water plays in our lives throughout Alabama and we will share how you can participate in the efforts to protect water, even in this new “normal”. You’ll hear from our partners across the state, and leading experts in water protection. We’ll even have a few river history lessons thrown in!
