Alabama Rivers Alliance, Cahaba River Society, Greater Birmingham Ministries and SWEET Alabama are partnering together to center water equity on #GivingTuesday to help people in the Birmingham metro area directly impacted by water inequality.
Clean, healthy, affordable drinking water is a human right essential to life — and there are people across Alabama who are denied access to this right because they can’t afford to pay high water bills. There are families who can’t pay their water bills and have had their water shut off or face that threat – a serious health and economic problem at any time, but especially in a pandemic.
We are proud to amplify the work of SWEET Alabama and Greater Birmingham Ministries as they provide utility bill financial relief to folks who need it – now.
Join us on Tuesday, November 30 for a BONUS Water is Life: Water Equity Zoom Talk where we talk with Rob Burton (Sweet Alabama) and Reverend Majadi Baruti (Greater Birmingham Ministries). Click here for more information and to register.
