Henry Hughes
Friends of Shades Creek

Henry is executive director of Friends of Shades Creek, an emeritus board member of the Cahaba River Society, past president of the board of the Alabama Rivers Alliance and member of the advisory board of Friends of Big Canoe Creek. He was director of education at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens until his retirement following a twenty-five year career in forestry in Alabama. He has been co-convener of The Gathering since 2018.
