Perry Dowell, Climate Program Coordinator at GASP (Greater-Birmingham Alliance to Stop Pollution), advocates for climate and environmental justice towards a just, sustainable, and equitable Birmingham. Perry has worked with various environmental nonprofits since 2020 and has dedicated her career to environmental advocacy. Throughout her years of experience, Perry has held internships or fellowships with organizations like Southeast Energy Efficiency Alliance, Atlanta-based grassroots organization Roots Down, and Birmingham-based organization SWEET Alabama and she is always looking for ways to learn more about the many different types of environmental issues.

Perry holds a B.A. in Business Management with a minor in Environmental and Sustainable Studies with a specialization in leadership development from Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA. Perry was raised in Birmingham and moved back after college graduation to be closer to her family and to advocate for sustainability in her home city.

 

Perry loves taking care of her many plants (both indoor and garden), spending as much time as possible outside, and hanging out with friends or family.
