Orvis Partners with Alabama Rivers Alliance for Opening of Huntsville Location

Adam Hudson, Fishing Manager for the Orvis Huntsville Retail location, presents a check for $2,500 to Executive Director Cindy Lowry of the Alabama Rivers Alliance. The Orvis Company, Inc. made this grant in recognition of the Alabama River Alliance’s contribution to area conservation.Huntsville, AL (January 14, 2015) – In celebration of the opening of its new Huntsville Retail Store at Bridge Street Town Centre, The Orvis Company, Inc. has made a $2,500 grant to the Alabama Rivers Alliance. Orvis Huntsville Regional Manager Tracy Zimmerman said, “We are proud to recognize this remarkable organization as a valuable conservation partner throughout the state of Alabama”.

The Alabama Rivers Alliance is a statewide network of groups working to protect and restore all of Alabama’s water resources through building partnerships, empowering citizens, and advocating for sound water policy and its enforcement.

Executive Director Cindy Lowry said, “We are excited to receive this generous donation from the Orvis Huntsville store as their conservation partner.   This funding will provide resources for us to work with local river groups in the Tennessee River basin to protect and promote clean, healthy rivers for fishing, boating, and drinking.”

The Orvis Huntsville store celebrated its Grand Opening the weekend of December 5-7, with Alabama Rivers Alliance participating in the festivities. For more information on the organization, visit www.alabamarivers.org.
