Water is Life: Why Government Matters  featuring Dr. Akhlaque Haque (professor, UAB Department of Political Science and Public Administration) & Evan Milligan (Alabama Forward)

From unprecedented voter turnout in the Georgia runoff election to the horrific attack on our Capitol, the past week’s events displayed the best and the worst of America.  Government plays an important role in our lives, but it is only as good as the people who choose to participate in it. That participation comes with responsibility that extends beyond elections.

Join us as we talk with Dr. Akhlaque Haque (professor, UAB Department of Political Science and Public Administration) and Evan Milligan (Alabama Forward) about why government matters and the importance of sustained and informed civic engagement.

ABOUT THE WATER IS LIFE SERIES

Each Tuesday, starting on Rivers of Alabama Day (April 14), we invite you to join us from noon – 1 pm for this virtual get-together…with a purpose! We will be highlighting the role that water plays in our lives throughout Alabama and we will share how you can participate in the efforts to protect water, even in this new “normal”. You’ll hear from our partners across the state, and leading experts in water protection. We’ll even have a few river history lessons thrown in!
